Daily Inspiration: Meet Ashley Perkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Perkins.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A multi-talented fashionista born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I have a Bachelor of science degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of Phoenix. Currently a graduate student. This Buckeye beauty is the proud mother of two daughters and two dogs. I am no stranger to the stage. Since the age of four, I have appeared in numerous stage plays, PUBLIC, and fashion shows throughout the country. A lover of fine arts and music.

As a community advocate, I enjoy volunteering with Lifeline of Ohio, The American Red Cross and is a Fairy Goodmother for Cinderella’s Closet.

In December of 2020, I became a member of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Inc. An organization for business and professional women. The sorority has chapters across the country.

July 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia, I competed in the 2nd annual National Sorority Pageant and was crowned Ms. National Sorority Pageant 2022-2023. This year’s competition will be held in Atlanta June 27th through July 2, 2023.

Fashion is one of my passions. Helping people is my purpose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life isn’t always easy. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree during the pandemic. Although I’d hoped to walk across the stage instead, I watched my graduation virtually from my coach. Also, as a pageant veteran, each competition is different. Preparation is key. The end goal may be to become queen, but you must exude confidence, gratitude, pose, and grace even if you are not crown.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love what I do. Currently, I am a case manager with Franklin County. I enjoy making an impact on the community with day-to-day operations. My degree is in Healthcare Administration. With over 18 years of healthcare experience, I am passionate about encouraging people to be their most healthy selves.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Resilience. Things happen in everyone’s life. Some circumstances are better than others. It’s how you overcome that matters. Also, do not allow anyone to dictate your life’s journey. You only get one.
