Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Heard.
Hi Angel, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I saw at a very young age that I was really good at something and I could make a profit doing what I loved to do. The spark for me was as a young teenager my friends wanting to pay me to do their hair like mines. It grew into not only friends and family, but lots of other people not only being interested into my hairstyles but also showing an interested in the hair products I would create for myself. I saw that I could profit money off of doing simply what I love to do.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Maintaining my business has been VERY challenging. It has most definitely taken me dedication and perseverance. I have had to work teaching in the beauty field to pay for my salon, I’ve had to work very hard to provide for my family as a single mother but also not making any money for my salon for 5 years! I’ve always sacrificed and sacrifice every day for my business. Thankfully and gratefully now I’m starting to see all of the hard work I manifested become a reality. Being a business owner, you are always going to come into challenges along the way. Some of my struggles were fear!!! Fear that people wouldn’t like me, or that I wouldn’t be able to maintain my bills, or most importantly people not liking my work. So, I continued to work a full-time job and put my business 2nd. However, one day I woke up and said to myself, “why not me?’ What are you waiting for? It’s time for YOU to soar! And that’s what I do. I face obstacles EVERY day. Heck, I just had to pay for a plumbing job at the salon :-(. You just have to get up and keep going, and I promise you it will be worthwhile!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a hair growth doctor. I specialize in Healthy Hair. In addition to speculating in healthy hair, I am also an amazing hairstylist. I offer several hair treatment options and styling also if preferred. One of the things I am proud my all-natural hair product line I created, being featured in The Cincinnati Herald Newspaper, and also having the opportunity to be featured in In Style Magazine. I focus on treating the hair from the inside out. A lot a stylist just focus on styling the hair, however, my focus is treating your hair first to maintain healthy lustrous beautiful hair. Styling is always an option! However, we are going to treat your hair and make it healthy first!
What makes you happy?
My family and doing what I love makes me happy. Every day I get to spend time with my family, and also always changing a person confidence within a matter of a couple hours. I love to see how a person lift there head up and smile after seeing me when at first coming in that person had their head to the ground. I love making people feel beautiful, I love boosting people confidence, and I love if I can really change a person life. I love talking to my clients and giving life lessons and also being able to receive life lessons that can help you elevate your life.
