Daily Inspiration: Meet Aaron Spaulding

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Spaulding.

Hi Aaron, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began as a photographer, wanting to show the world through my eyes. I know that I see the world differently than those around me so I wanted to show how beautiful life is. I started as a portrait photographer but soon fell in love with the whole process of creating.

I now focus on helping people create the visions they see and bringing their worlds to reality. Everyone sees the world in different ways and we all have some type of vision. I enjoy bringing others’ visions to reality because not only do I get to do what I love but it allows me to explore different worlds in a way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Choosing to take a creative path has not been easy. It comes with a lot of doubts, creative blocks, and hard times. It was times when I didn’t feel inspired, had little to no business, and when didn’t trust myself to create. These are battles that I had to face within myself. I had to allow myself to be who I was in order to create the way I wanted.

It involved taking some time to myself, living my life, and spending time with friends and family to get that inspiration back! Being creative doesn’t have to be hard, you just have to trust yourself to create and always be willing to learn.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a creative director. I specialize in portrait photography but also am working to build my skills in various forms of art! I am known as a portrait photographer, who loves capturing the true beauty of one’s self. Photography has taught me to be aware of my perception because there are always multiple ways of doing, seeing, and hearing things. I like to help people build their visions and shape them into the reality that they see.

Being able to learn, grow, and adapt in a creative field is one of the most exciting things to me. Being able to thrive and connect with various artists, and being a part of their journey makes me proud to be a creator. I believe that my mindset and the way that I can interpret things make me different than other artists. We all think and see things differently which is why I enjoy the process of collaboration. Being able to put multiple minds together and create an amazing project makes everything worthwhile.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Through my journey, I’ve learned that being creative takes a lot of energy. No matter how you’re feeling, you have to remain true to yourself when creating. I had to learn not to create only for others but to create for myself. You have to be open to learning because there are always new techniques you may be able to use to better your skillset.

As a creator, there may be days when you feel down or uninspired, for me, it helped me to take some time away from my craft and focus on myself. I create to express myself so taking that time helped me center my mind, body, and soul so that I can better create. Fall in love with the process and the full journey rather than focusing on the destination that you want to reach. Just Enjoy Creating!
