Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Miller.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started in 8th grade when our teacher assigned our class a worksheet about careers. I chose photography and never looked back! I have my Associates Degree in Photography, as well as a Small Business Management Certificate from Owens Community College. I worked for several portrait studios, created lovely wedding portraits on the weekends, and worked with product photography before finally deciding to focus full-time on my photography career.
I officially started Custom Portraits By Tiffany in June 2018. I offer a luxury portrait experience for high school seniors, athletes, families, and business. Not only is the portrait session a fun and exciting time, revealing the finished portraits is just as exciting! Showing the variety of high-quality products I offer and helping the client choose what works best for them to remember this moment in their life is so special to me. With the myriad of photographer options available, I am always so humbled when a client trusts me to create their beautiful portraits of them.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’m sure anyone who has started a business can agree that the road is never 100% smooth. There are always challenges that need to be dealt with and learning curves that help the business continue to grow. The photography market is very heavily saturated, so standing out in the crowd has always been difficult. Wearing all the “hats” as a business owner, and making sure all of the hats stay on your head, is a never-ending balancing act! Through all the challenging times though, I can say that I am proud of myself for continuing, learning, and growing when it would have been very easy to just give up.

Custom Portraits By Tiffany offers a luxury portrait experience for high school seniors, athletes, families, and businesses. I am known for my upbeat personality, flattering posing, and lighting techniques. Making each client comfortable during their session is extremely important so that their portraits look natural. I show the client how to pose for each portrait, and then I use my lighting techniques (indoors or outdoors) to ensure a crisp and professional look. Using lighting equipment during the session really enhances each portrait and allows me to be much more creative.
