Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamera Carter.
Hi Tamera, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The Rookie Season was founded many years ago in my college dorm. I wanted to create a sports platform that could tell stories of athletes from their rookie seasons and beyond. The Rookie Season is more a platform that highlights athletes during their star seasons. TRS is committed to building community in the industry.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is so rewarding but it has its challenges. I started this business when I was a full-time college student. I had to learn the best way to balance my schedule while being a college athlete and entrepreneur.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I learned to read in the bleachers. My playground was the football field and basketball court. I colored with crayons on clipboards. I have tried on more championship rings than I have fingers.
My father was a basketball coach and my brother was a Big Ten football player, sports is what I know. I knew early on that working in sports is what I wanted to do.
Creating a sports media platform is a dream and my team has so much cool content planned and game day apparel so be on the lookout!
