Today we’d like to introduce you to Stupid Bars.
Hi Stupid , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Ashtabula, Ohio. I moved I to California with my mother and grandmother. I bounced around from school to school. Life was moving a little fast I was back and forth from Ohio to California. I went to elementary, junior high, and high school in Ohio and California. i ended up dropping out, making fast money. and living the life I thought I wanted but didn’t. I ran into some people who were into like I was and from there it was a rollercoaster. I started in a group and was apart of multiple groups until I got to where I am today as a solo artist.
I always wanted to be an artist watching my mother and uncle who are artist’s. My other uncle is an engineer and producer. I have been around music my entire life. Outside of sports for me music is all I have ever known. it is my diary my passion my love.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My musical journey has been up and down. Dealing with egos, financial issues, and a lot of people trying to get over on you in the industry. You have to deal with and maneuver around a lot of politics. I have come to grips with that and do what I feel is best for me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
For creating I write a lot whether it be R&B or rap I specialize in deep thought emotional and relationship type of music. I am an open book A lot of what I do or say comes from deep within and is genuine. Although I do make party and up tempo music and that might be what I am most known for which I’m ok with. I am most proud of the fact that I am myself at all times in a world where following a trend seems like the thing to do. And I feel that separates me for the most part.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
When it comes to taking risks I feel if you have to do so do it. I myself prefer to take the route of doing what I feel is best for me and if it works it works if it doesn’t I’m ok with that as well. I have taken risks along my journey and it didn’t play out how I thought it would. But I wouldn’t tell the next person not to. At hit s point I’m more on the mind state of knowing everything before I make a move for the simple fact of what I have done and the outcomes.
