Today we’d like to introduce you to Savi Shah.
Hi Savi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I moved to Columbus, Ohio at the age of 6. Since then, I’ve been trying to find the hidden beauty and joy Columbus has to offer. From unique coffee shops, to family-owned local businesses, and more, I enjoy capturing it all. As a photographer, I love using the camera to cinematically tell a story—a visual narrative, if you will.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. I’ve constantly had to deal with comparison and feeling inadequate. My own worst enemy is myself. I constantly have to battle my inner critique. Part of art is the process of making mistakes and learning from them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am also a musician, so I get the best of both worlds; visual and sonic. I specialize in moody photography and alt-rock music. I’m most proud of my ability to balance both while working a full time job. I am proud of the way I am able to reach people with either method of story-telling. I have also overcome a lot of personal challenges, such as my POTS disorder, which is a chronic illness that greatly effects my day-to-day life
