Today we’d like to introduce you to Nykel McCrary, Jaylen Thomas, and Keisean Irvin. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Nykel McCrary, Jaylen Thomas, and Keisean Irvin are intermediate family members that constantly chill and hang out with each other; as many times as we’ve hung out together we have had very funny and deep conversations. Nykel came to Jaylen and Keisean about starting a podcast in late December of 2021. The JoK’N Podcast’s first episode aired on January 15th and we are 16 episodes in.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always struggles when starting a project, business, or starting off anything; doing the research on the best equipment for podcasts was the easier part. Grabbing the equipment was more challenging due to how expensive the equipment is, the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment, scheduling time to do the podcast because we all have different, busy schedules, etc. Also, learning to edit the audio and video for the podcast.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Nykel McCrary- Aspiring Actor, a college graduate who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard, and Founder of JoK’N Podcast. Jaylen Thomas- Rapper and Founder of rap Group 51Tre; while working 2 jobs, he works on his music and learning more about the music industry.
Keisean Irvin- Student at Ohio University, 2nd team ECC in 110-meter hurdles. Keisean is also studying Criminology and sociology and aiming to become an influencer.
