Today we’d like to introduce you to Nimisha Mishra.
Hi Nimisha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hey Voyage and all you fabulous readers! I’m Nimisha Mishra—originally from India, I moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2014 after getting married and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this vibrant city and all the opportunities it had to offer.
After earning my MBA from Ohio Dominican University in 2018, I dove into the world of IT project management. I’ve worked with a variety of tech companies, and currently I am in mason Ohio and putting my skills to work at a nonprofit organization—because mixing purpose with project plans is kind of my thing!
But wait, there’s more! Outside my 9-to-5, I live a double life as a content creator. I run two Instagram handles—@tinygurlworld and @my_hustle_world where I post fun, fashion-forward reels, makeup looks, and lifestyle content. It’s my creative escape, my happy place, and an amazing way to connect with a community that shares my love for all things glam, bold, and beautifully real.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that you don’t have to choose just one path. You can be analytical and artistic, corporate and creative. Don’t be afraid to chase the things that light you up inside—because that’s where your magic lives. Whether you’re starting fresh in a new city or picking up a passion project on the side, believe in your hustle, embrace your uniqueness, and trust that everything you’re dreaming of is possible 🙂
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but every bump along the way has helped shape who I am today. Moving to a new country after marriage was a big transition. Adjusting to a new culture, starting over professionally, and being away from family came with its own set of emotional and practical challenges.
Pursuing my MBA while settling into a new life wasn’t always easy either. There were moments of doubt, late nights, and a lot of juggling between studies, adapting to a new environment, and figuring out my career path.
Even after stepping into the workforce, it took time to find my footing in the IT industry—especially as a woman and immigrant trying to build a space for herself in a competitive field. And growing my Instagram platforms didn’t happen overnight either—it took passion, consistency, and putting myself out there to connect with the right audience.
I’m also a proud mom to a beautiful 6-year-old girl, which adds another layer to my journey. Managing three roles—mother, project manager, and content creator—is definitely a challenge, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Some days are chaotic, and yes, coffee is my best friend—but there’s so much joy in being able to wear multiple hats and still stay true to who I am.
Each phase of this journey has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of showing up—even when things aren’t perfect. And that’s the message I hope to share: you don’t have to have it all figured out. Just keep going, keep growing, and don’t be afraid to chase every dream that sets your soul on fire.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a content creator, my work revolves around celebrating self-expression, confidence, and creativity through fashion, makeup, and lifestyle content. I run two Instagram handles—@tinygurlworld and @my_hustle_world, where I share short-form reels, tutorials, styling tips, and everyday inspiration for women who love to embrace their personal style.
I specialize in creating relatable, fun, and aesthetically pleasing content that connects with my audience, especially those who, like me, are balancing multiple roles in life. Whether it’s a quick makeup tutorial, a fashion reel for busy moms, or just a moment of real life, I aim to uplift, inspire, and bring joy to my followers.
What I’m most proud of is the incredible community I’ve built. It’s not just about the numbers; it’s about the meaningful connections, the messages I get from women who feel seen or inspired by my content, and the way we support each other in this journey of balancing life, work, and self-love. Some of my posts have gained over 250 saves and have even been shared by brands and celebrities, which is such an exciting validation of the impact I’m making.
What sets me apart is that I bring my full, authentic self to my platform. I’m not just a creator; I’m also a project manager, a mom, and a woman constantly figuring out how to balance it all. I believe in keeping things real, relatable, and fun—because, ultimately, it’s not just about looking good, it’s about feeling good in your own skin and embracing who you truly are.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If I could offer any advice to those just starting out, it would be to embrace the journey and trust the process. When I first began, I didn’t have it all figured out, and there were definitely moments of self-doubt. But looking back, I realize that the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that progress doesn’t have to be linear. It’s okay to stumble, to try new things, and to pivot when needed.
One thing I wish I had known earlier is that consistency is key, but so is being kind to yourself. We often put pressure on ourselves to have everything perfect from the start, but it’s okay to grow and evolve. Whether you’re starting a career in project management, content creation, or something else entirely, don’t be afraid to start small and build from there. Focus on learning as you go and embrace every step of the process.
Also, don’t be afraid to blend your passions together. For me, I didn’t initially see how my background in project management and my love for fashion and lifestyle could coexist. But now, I realize how beautifully they complement each other. Don’t box yourself into one identity—your skills, passions, and experiences can all come together in ways that make you unique.
Finally, surround yourself with a supportive community. Whether it’s in your professional life or on social media, find people who inspire you and help you grow. The connections I’ve made along the way, from clients to fellow creators, have been invaluable, and I wouldn’t be where I am without the support and encouragement of others.
So, take that leap, be patient with yourself, and enjoy the ride. You’ve got this!
