Conversations with Lauren Shepard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Shepard.

Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Growing up in a family construction business, I developed a passion and appreciation for all things related to design and architecture. I believe the power of beautiful interiors transforms daily life. Walking into a well-designed interior can elicit feelings of comfort, peace, and happiness, and I want to create that for others.

I became a professional interior designer in 2014 and shortly after started to specialize in floral and greenery design. Today, I am proud to say that I am a designer for St. Jude 2022 Dream Home and my other work can be found in multiple restaurants, nightclubs, and The Moxy Hotel. I love what I do and believe everyone should have beautiful surroundings that enrich their lives.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
At the beginning of my career, I was Naïvely enthusiastic that I could do it all. After almost burning out, I noticed I was gravitating towards floral and greenery design. By choosing the main focus, I was able to fine-tune my art. This also allotted me the tools necessary to help forecast upcoming trends.

Being able to do this was a pivotal point in my career and Josh Lang of Pink Cloud Media/Partner of Lost Social Club saw some of my work and opened doors to me working with The George Group. Finding a specialty niche was the best thing to happen to my career. I now get to focus on what I love and also opportunities to work with the industry’s best such as Anis Nakhel of Global Custom Furniture and Kelle Schwab, artist & muralist.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a designer for St Jude’s 2022 Dream Home. Partnered with Andrew Gotlieb of Keystate Homes, Gary Neola of Cornerstone Architecture, and many other generous and talented team members, we raised $2.2m in support of St Jude’s mission: Finding cures, Saving children.
