Conversations with Kristin Mulcahy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Mulcahy.

Kristin Mulcahy

Kristin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been a preschool teacher for the past 6 or so years, and in my classrooms, I always incorporated yoga. When the pandemic hit, I was teaching virtual preschool, and I had a lot of time to do trainings. I decided to do a Cosmic Kids Yoga training. When we came back into the classroom, I was able to teach what I learned to my students. Eventually, the practice moved to public parks, then studios, events, and community gathering.

In July of 2022, I began my kids in Cleveland account, but it was originally called Yoga with Miss Kristin- in hopes of promoting my events to a wider audience.

At the time, my best friend was finding a great footing with her Food in Cleveland account.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have had to overcome lots of challenges in both my yoga, work/life balance and social media. I have a very love/hate relationship with social media, and there have been many times where I have thought about quitting the apps. I love to promote places and people I love, as well as share my own yoga practice with the community so I continue with the kidsincleveland account. I have to be very careful about boundaries because social media can feel addictive, draining and inauthentic to me at times.

Kids yoga is a trial and error- sometimes I have the best class ever, and other times I have no idea what just happened. Overall, I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had and I cannot wait to see what the future holds!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a mom to a first-grader and a cat named Zenni. I am a kids’ yoga teacher, promoter, educator, and community builder.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
My favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I love to listen to Glennon Doyle’s We Can Do Hard Things podcast and Dax’s Shepard’s Arm Chair Expert. I am a total Swiftie, and currently bingeing the latest season of Atlanta.
