Conversations with Jonathan McIntosh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan McIntosh.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been writing since a young age but never really thought about music. I would say when I graduated from high school and went to college, I started to write a lot more and record a little bit. About 2-3 years ago, I decided to really jump into the studio. In January of 2022, I released 5 songs and started to jump into stages. I’ve opened for a few artist and done some open mics.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Dreams are never smooth unless you are given a handout, and that’s something that has never been given. It’s been rough, as me and my significant other adopted her 3 little sisters and we also have a 1 year old now. So, trying to keep up with 2 teenagers, a kid and baby makes going for this dream tough. Having to take care of my home while also not giving up on my dreams is a hard task but I’m not giving up.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
That’s a great question that I know a lot of artist give the same answer for. I’m different blah blah blah. I look at it as me being in my own lane. I like to make songs women can dance too in clubs and strip clubs. I like to get in my zone sometimes like jcole and rap about something that has meaning that could possibly help a person thru the situation. Sometimes I like to talk about my exes like drake. I’m a proud artist. I’ve been on multiple stages, radio shows, and podcasts. So being noticed with my work it’s something I pride myself on. Jumping off that porch as they call it.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Just don’t give up. Yes, you want a song to pop overnight and make you famous, but many of those artist never make it past their sophomore album. Some barely make it to an album. You have to be patient. You gotta network with everyone and be kind. I show love to everyone I don’t care whose beefing with who. I show kindness and work hard, so I know my blessing will come. It’s been times where I was invited to do a show and get there and not able to perform, I don’t get mad and show the face I watch everyone perform and just go. This life comes with being humble as well, but most importantly, have fun and never change YOU
