Conversations with Jd Foust

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jd Foust

JD, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Sports have always been a part of my life. I was a 3 sport athlete in High School. I played college baseball at University of Toledo, and then was drafted by the Phillies in 2003. After my playing career I started coaching High School Sports, and then eventually became the Athletic Director at Norwood High. I spent 6 years at Norwood before heading north to be Athletic Director at Tipp City. I spent 3 years there, then accepted the job at Middletown.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My parents had me at a very young age, so the struggles were real. I was very blessed to have a family that supported me and allowed me to chase my dreams. I knew that the only way I was going to college was if I received a scholarship, so I worked extremely hard in the classroom and on the playing fields.

The road was definitely not smooth, but that is what made me who I am today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the District Athletic Director at Middletown City Schools. I oversee 27 Varsity teams and 75 teams total. I supervise over 125 coaches and 1500 students.

I am known to be a hard worker and passionate about the student-athletes having the best experience possible. I want the kids to succeed and have the opportunities that were given to me.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory was riding in the car with my father as we headed to Philadelphia for the pre-draft workout. He was so proud and I knew that everything we worked for was coming to fruition.
