Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Moore
Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had a friend, Emily, who carved lithophanes from photographs on her CNC Machine. It was so unique and I was fascinated.
She & her ex started Evergraph in 2012 – he was the engineer with the CNC; she was the creative & marketing expert. She got the biz in the divorce.
I worked for her for a year then signed a Licensing Agreement with her to run Evergraph in August of 2019.
I have a website Evergraphs.com, an Etsy Shop, and did 35 local Art Shows & indoor/outdoor Markets in 2023. I work to maintain a Social Media presence on FB (Evergraphs.com) and IG @Evergraph.studios.
I create all the pieces myself, process all the orders, and pack & ship – pretty much a one-woman-band!
I work out of my home studio so don’t have a brick and morter storefront but maybe in the future.
Evergraph are the most unique and meaningful gift. It’s something that will bring tears of joy to your loved one’s eyes.
You just gotta find the right photograph!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The learning curve was steep as I had no previous experience running a CNC Machine. I also had to learn and master 3 different software programs to prepare the photo files for carving. But I persevered and learned the ropes!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I carve lithophanes from photographs into Dupont Corian. They’re a magical marriage of Art & Science. When you see the piece at one angel, it appears totally white – like marble. When you hold it up to the Light, it comes to life.
Lithophanes are an old art form, many displayed in Museums carved from porcelain and glass – super fragile.
I carve in a sturdy counter top material that’s kid & pet-friendly. It’s a win-win!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Was going on vacation with my mom & dad & 7 siblings to Michigan. The dunes, Crooked Lake & fishing with a canepole & bobber, and picking Bing Cherries.
