Conversations with Hanah Lynch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hanah Lynch.

Hi Hanah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve loved hair since the very beginning. I always loved styling hair from when I was really little. In highschool, I was the go-to girl for proms and homecomings. I drifted apart from my love for hair and makeup and went to college, receiving my Masters in Forensic Investigations, but the beauty world was always still a passion of mine. In 2020, one of my good friends and photographers Courtney Ranes asked if I’d do hair and makeup for the photoshoots she was doing. I of course said yes. From there, those clients asked me to do their weddings, and from there I was recommended enough to get my foot in the door of wedding hair and makeup. I ran with it as far as I could and now I do wedding hair and makeup full time with my business Hanah Jade Beauty, and co- own another bridal hair and makeup company The Ivory Beauty Co. as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no. Makeup and hair styling is an art that takes alot of practice. I am fully self- taught, and in the beginning it wasn’t always easy. I received no’s, critiques, etc. as anyone would. I took those situations as learning experiences and always kept working towards my goal of being a full time hair and makeup artist. Theres still styles that get thrown my way that I’m not fully trained in, but that’s what makes it fun! You never know what styles someone will request!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in Bridal and Event hair and makeup. To be more specific, I love any modern style or makeup look. Soft glowy glam is my favorite makeup style to do, and I love a good modern updo, French twist, or glam wave variation.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Honestly, social media. I follow a lot of amazing hairstylists and makeup artists. I learn a lot there and they inspire me to keep learning and growing in my craft.
