Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Brooks.
Hi Greg, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always been interested in clothes and wanted to start a clothing brand. During covid, I realized I wanted to start a pro-black clothing line all about positivity and empowerment called #SueMe. I came up with a logo and slogan for the brand then saved some money to put out the clothes. I just want to build a brand that uplifts those who feel underrepresented. Like our saying is “If nobody else rooting for you I’m rooting for you. Sue me I’m rooting for everybody that’s black!” We want to spread peace and motivation to everyone no matter what race or sex you are but sadly black and brown people usually get mistreated and the short end of the stick. I know we often need extra support since society is often trying to keep us down. We also make videos weekly on our Instagram @sueme1865 giving advice, motivation and speaking on social issues. We are working on putting out a YouTube channel and TikTok soon.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has had its ups and downs. Sells went well for Juneteenth but I would like to get more sales throughout the rest of the year. It is hard to find the right audience at times that actually want to support us and is genuinely interested. I think our slogan might scare some people from wanting to support. The hardest thing is people will criticize the brand just to be negative but not actually try to understand what the brand is about or try to give suggestions on how it can be improved. All we spread is positive energy yet so many people are still negative towards us sadly.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a full time engineer in the process of trying to transition into a full time investor and business owner. I have a background in electrical engineering. I currently own my clothing brand #SueMe. I have been getting into investing heavy. I am also working on being a life coach and financial advisor. Please sign up for a free session if you are interested through linktr.ee/Gregb216. I think what sets my brand apart is that it is all about positivity and just spreading knowledge to the people. Even if they don’t buy any clothes I just want people to support the movement of what we are trying to achieve. Which is unity and financial freedom for all.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important thing I’ve learned is sometimes you just have to be uncomfortable and just put yourself out there. You just have to take risk and try new things to see what works and doesn’t work. Some things I thought would work like paying for promotions didn’t work but things I was hesitant on like vendor tables actually went well for us. You never know what may or may not work.

So very proud of this young man. Positivity is the way. We need more smart minded young men to speak & do what he has done and will do. I see a successful African American young man with a bright future.
Good luck & much success to him & his positive agenda
