Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Leslie.
Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have been a graphic designer for over 20 years. After working in advertising, marketing, and with my own clients, I had the opportunity to purchase The Paper Mill, an established, 35+ year business. I purchased the business from Ann Morgan over 6 years ago. Over the years, we have moved locations, curated more unique gift items, bespoke stationery, and invitations, and continued to be a resource in our community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha! Being a creative, I look back and laugh that I was more concerned with updating my logo rather than the logistics and accounting of owning a business! I was so lucky to have two previous employees stay on with me when I created Paper Mill Studio. Sue and Ellen are a big part of the reason for our success. We implemented processes, procedures, and a true inventory system in the beginning years.
Although I will never be a “numbers” gal, I am so happy with the work we have done. We have experienced continued growth and are excited for the future!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
We are most know for our bespoke wedding invitations. We work with brides from save the dates through wedding invitations to day of print items. Being a designer, I don’t liking saying “no” to a challenge! No two invitations are ever the same for our distinctive brides! Every bride is special to us, and we are so fortunate to have so many returning customers and family. We love creating baby shower invitations for our previous brides…. it’s like we are part of the family!

From a retail perspective, we have a great team that can help you curate special gifts in-store. We offer complimentary gift bags for gift purchases and have so many unique items you cannot find on Amazon!
