Hi Dustin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got into cigars when I was 21 years old. I tried one at my house one night when a friend brought some over. The next day I went to my local shop and immediately fell in love with everything about it. Fast forward 8 years later and my local shop was going up for sale as the previous owner did it for 18 years and was ready for a change. I jumped on the opportunity and really never looked back. 3 years after buying that shop I started looking elsewhere to open or buy a shop and that is when the Toledo shop came available for me. I thought there was tons of potential there and was very excited to be a part of this community as well. I have now had this shop for just over a year and am so happy I chose to do it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not necessarily totally smooth. I have a different vision than some shops but once we explain how we do business people really seem to love the uniqueness. We have some of the larger brands of cigars you can find anywhere but we are really proud of our small batch and boutique brands. We don’t necessarily just bring in small brands just to do it, we really are cigar people who want the best of the best and we love explaining what we have and why it is awesome. We take the same process with our liquor too. We love small company, craft, non additive liquors to pair in our craft cocktails.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We firmly believe that we offer the finest selection of cigars available, regardless of whether they come from the most widely recognized brands or lesser known artisans. Every cigar maker we partner with is a true master of their craft, demonstrating exceptional skill, dedication, and attention to detail in every step of the process from seed selection and cultivation to rolling and aging. We take great pride in curating and showcasing these exceptional products, giving our customers access to outstanding quality and unique flavor profiles that might otherwise go undiscovered. This same philosophy extends to our bar program. We carefully select spirits and our craft cocktails reflect the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality. Whether it’s a small-batch, or a perfectly executed classic cocktail, we strive to feature offerings that delight and surprise our guests. By highlighting both established favorites and hidden gems from talented producers and mixologists, we create an experience that celebrates excellence across the board and provides our patrons with memorable, elevated moments of enjoyment.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as consistently achieving the goals you have intentionally set for yourself. These goals may evolve over time as circumstances change, priorities shift, or new opportunities arise and that flexibility is not only normal but essential for long term growth. What matters most is maintaining the discipline and focus to reach each milestone you’ve committed to, celebrating that accomplishment, and then purposefully setting the next objective. Success, in my view, is not a single destination but an ongoing cycle of clear intention, dedicated effort, measurable progress, and forward momentum. This approach keeps motivation high, ensures continuous improvement, and creates a meaningful sense of fulfillment along the journey.
