Today we’d like to introduce you to Chante Jackson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always believed that beauty and wellness go hand in hand—it’s more than what we see in the mirror; it’s how we feel in our bodies, how we move through the world, and how we pour back into ourselves. That belief is what led me here.
I started out as a makeup artist with a passion for helping women feel powerful in their own skin. That eventually evolved into House of Caurel, a mid-century styled beauty studio in Englewood, Ohio, where glam meets intentional care. We’ve created a space where women can slow down, feel seen, and leave looking like their favorite version of themselves.
But as I grew both as a business owner and a woman, I realized something was missing—not just in my business, but in my own life. I craved more movement, more breath, more healing. That’s when the vision for Soleil Movement Studio was born.
Soleil is my love letter to women who are trying to keep it all together—mothers, professionals, creatives, healers. We’re opening our doors in downtown Dayton on August 8, 2025, and we’re bringing something new: a space where you can move, breathe, reconnect with yourself, and feel truly supported. Think desert-inspired aesthetics, high-vibe classes, and a culture of slowing down and showing up fully.
What connects both of my brands is the intention. Whether you’re getting a lash fill at House of Caurel or flowing through yoga at Soleil, you’re entering a space where you are the priority.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Whew—smooth? Not at all. But it’s been beautiful.
Running a business—let alone two—while raising a toddler, managing real life, and still trying to grow as a woman has definitely tested me. I’ve had seasons where money was tight, support was low, and I questioned whether I was doing the right thing at all.
House of Caurel had to be built in a time when I didn’t always feel seen in the beauty industry. I had to teach myself how to market, how to lead, how to trust my vision even when others didn’t fully understand it.
And with Soleil, I’m stepping into a wellness space that’s often catered to a very narrow audience—but I know how deeply women like me need it, too. The hardest part has been doing all of this with limited capital and a full heart—trying to create premium experiences on a budget, wearing multiple hats, and still showing up with grace.
But every challenge stretched me. Every setback taught me something. And every time I wanted to quit, I reminded myself: I’m building this not just for me, but for every woman who needs a place to come home to herself.
So no—it hasn’t been smooth. But it’s been worth it. And we’re just getting started.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At my core, I help women feel like themselves—elevated. I’ve always had an eye for detail, a love for beauty, and a deep belief in the healing power of intentional spaces.
Through House of Caurel, I specialize in luxury lash and beauty services with a soulful touch. It’s not just about great lashes or makeup—it’s about curating a vibe, giving clients a moment to breathe, and offering a level of care that feels both professional and personal. I’m proud to say we’ve become known for our calm, mid-century aesthetic and our commitment to consistent, quality glam. Our clients often say it feels like a peaceful little escape—and that’s exactly what I wanted.
On the other side of my work is Soleil Movement Studio, a modern yoga + Pilates space opening this August. Soleil is about more than movement—it’s about healing in community, slowing down, and honoring the mind-body connection. We’ll offer yoga, mat Pilates, breathwork, and workshops designed for women in all phases of life. From the playlist to the scent in the air, every detail is curated to feel nourishing.
What I’m most proud of is that I created both of these brands while navigating real-life challenges—motherhood, burnout, self-doubt, financial setbacks—and still led with heart. I’ve built these businesses from the ground up, with intention and resilience, and I’ve stayed authentic every step of the way.
What sets me apart? I don’t just provide a service—I create an experience. Whether it’s beauty or wellness, I care deeply about how people feel when they walk through my doors and even more about how they feel when they leave.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The wellness and beauty industries are both evolving rapidly—and honestly, I’m here for it.
Over the next 5–10 years, I see a major shift toward intentional, holistic experiences. People are craving more than just results—they want rituals. They want community. They want spaces that feel good to be in, not just look good in. I think we’re moving away from the “quick fix” era and into a time where slower, more mindful self-care becomes the new luxury.
In the beauty space, I see clients leaning toward minimalist glam and services that enhance their natural features while still offering convenience and longevity. Think clean lashes, fresh skin, simplified routines—but with luxe touches that make them feel pampered and powerful.
In wellness, I believe we’ll see more integration: fitness blending with healing, spiritual care becoming part of physical health, and more community-led movement studios that offer real connection—not just calorie burn. Tech and AI might assist the process, but human presence, personalization, and vibe will matter more than ever.
And most importantly, I see more Black and Brown women claiming space in both industries—leading studios, creating products, hosting wellness retreats, and redefining what self-care looks and feels like for our communities.
My goal with both House of Caurel and Soleil is to be ahead of that curve—offering intentional beauty and wellness that’s rooted in soul, not just aesthetics. Because the future is about feeling good from the inside out.
Self-care is no longer optional. It’s the foundation.
