Today we’d like to introduce you to Chance Colon.
Hi Chance, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I, KHR Chance, began doing music at a very young age, about the time I could walk. I always loved music and began doing anything music-related. I made music with some friends as a way of therapy but began to take over my life and I dropped my first official song in 2020. I then did some traveling with a few friends to Los Angeles and other locations. And here we are today.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has never been easy, struggling with money problems and mental health, I had to push through and never stop thriving. I can’t lose, and I have no other choice but to win.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make a sub-genre of hip hop music called hyperpop, I specialize in writing, recording, and mastering this music. I am known for my very overthinking but intelligent behavior while only being 17 (Senior in Highschool). I am most proud of going to California with my team at the age of 16 with no parental guidance. What sets me apart is my unique sound, look, and age.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
One good advice I give to people is if you are in this industry, no one will care for your music until you’re somebody. Don’t be scared to show out and perform. What has worked for me is to be transparent and honest. This IS a business.
