Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Catlin.
Hi Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a former corporate business professional that started my own business after tying my gifts and talents with my personal purpose. It all started with the loss of my grandmother. I was devastated and overwhelmed with grief, I began focusing on formulating products using essential oils and fragrances. At the time, I didn’t realize this process was helping me to channel my grief into creativity as a way to cope with the loss. I was not only grieving the loss of my grandmother but also the loss of other relatives and situations in my life which were stressful and all occurring back-to-back. This propelled me to focus on my own self-care as I was trying to cope with all of the grief and pain. Making this connection was healing, spiritual, and therapeutic and ultimately led me to my passion and purpose.
This experience sparked my “Aha!” moment and inspired me to use my God-given gifts to create, connect and help people just like my grandmother did for so many. My desire to help and serve others along with my grandmother’s love and legacy translated into a love reciprocated by others. This journey helped me understand the purpose of my grief and pain which led to my inner creativity. The art of handcrafting products from start to finish, adding my own personal touch, inspired me to give a gift of love. Handcrafted with Love and Wellness in Mind. This inspired and led to the creation of the Catlin Naturals® Brand!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way
The biggest challenge was the coronavirus pandemic. It significantly impacted my business due to the lockdown and the risk of spreading the virus. The cancellation of local vendor/pop-up events affected our bottom line. Thanks to our eCommerce platform and our loyal customers continued support we were able to maintain revenue and rebound. As the end of the pandemic comes into sight, I’m looking to the future to grow my business.

Along with being the founder of Catlin Naturals, I offer consulting services to small businesses, startups, or individual projects. Often, I’m asked for my expertise and unique perspective to help individuals with their ideas or projects which led me to start my own consulting business. I enjoy helping people brainstorm their ideas using the resources and strategies I’ve learned throughout my business career and entrepreneurship journey.

My favorite podcasts are The Be Free Project Podcast with Siobhan Sudberry and The Nicole Walters Podcast. I just started reading The Alchemist, Novel by Paulo Coelho and after that I plan to read It’s About Damn Time, Book by Arlan Hamilton.
