Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I founded Aine’s Beauté & Co. in 2025, driven by a lifelong passion for hair and skin care and a desire to create a more personal beauty experience. I earned my cosmetology license at 18 through a career center while completing my high school education and maintaining honor roll status. Balancing both was challenging, but it shaped my work ethic and commitment to excellence. After gaining experience in previous salon settings, I now operate Aine’s Beauté & Co. as an independent business within Salon Lofts, where I focus on intentional, one-on-one client experiences. The brand reflects my vision of independence, personalized care, and high-quality service rooted in passion and purpose.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced moments of self-doubt, especially during challenging times when my confidence and passion were tested. Building a business requires resilience, and there were points where the journey felt overwhelming. One of the most difficult challenges I faced was the loss of a hairstylist who was meant to become my mentor—a family friend and lifelong role model—who tragically passed away in 2021. His guidance was something I deeply looked forward to, and I often wish I could turn to him for advice. Even so, his influence continues to shape my path, serving as a source of motivation and reminding me to persevere with purpose and intention.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in haircutting, skincare, and makeup, and I currently create and sell my own hair and skin products made with 100% natural ingredients. I am most proud of transforming my Loft into my own space and the hard work that went into bringing my vision to life. What sets me apart is my hands-on approach—from formulating and selling natural products to offering one-on-one services—allowing me to create a truly personal and comfortable experience for every client.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that not a lot of people know about me is how long I’ve been fascinated by the industry. When I was 5 years old, I would spend hours doing makeup on Manikins and I’d always try and cut my Barbie’s hair. A lot of people also don’t know that I attended Kent State University for a period of time before I ultimately decided to come back to work. Before cosmetology, I always thought I’d be a Language Arts Teacher.
