Today we’d like to introduce you to Adra Johnson.
Hi Adra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been intrigued with hidden knowledge and history for as long as I can remember. I’ve always had a passion for keeping lost stories alive. My personal exploration of the paranormal and everything associated with it became professional when I realized the impact that paranormal tourism has on historic preservation. Now, I use my passion to share these places and their stories in a different way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Paranormal tourism is still a controversial line of work. There are those who question my authenticity or motives and some who are not open to it at all. However, it is incredibly rewarding to bridge those gaps by combating misperceptions of the paranormal and see the community thrive through what I do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have a background in journalism, tourism, and paranormal research. Blending these things, I have created the Haunted Blennerhassett program at The Blennerhassett Hotel and Spa, as well as my own LLC research and events company called M45, which works all over the country. I take care to document my findings and create events that welcome the community into this world.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
It’s not all ghosts. I also do historical tours at Blennerhassett Island State Park, a location that is a staple for American political and cultural history.
