Community Highlights: Meet Troy D. Fowler Sr. of Day to Day Living

Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy D. Fowler Sr.

Hi Troy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I wanted to leveling the playing field. I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by becoming the founder and Empowerment Tactician of Day to Day Living. Day to Day Living is an infusion of both coaching and consulting, encouraging the personal and professional goals of my clients. The company arose from a desire to improve people’s lives by assisting them in becoming better versions of themselves. I work to deliver personalized strategies to reach the short and long-term goals of helping my clients. I help my clients to believe they are confident and strong enough to reach their goals with energy and vigor. One of my deepest purposes is to meet people as the person they are today to help them build their tomorrow.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be honest, I am working it in the way that is best suited for me. When I choose to go down this road, I made it up in my mind that I would take my time and do it the right way. In my past experiences in business, I have learned that it must be done right from the jump. As much as I just wanted to jump into things, I wanted to make sure my coaching materials and tools were thorough. The challenge is getting people to understand the difference between coaching and therapy. Therapy is helping folk through problems they have facing. With coaching, I get to meet people the where they are now in life, moving them forward to meeting their goals. Coaching is about the client’s needs, their goals, their potential, and their barriers to success. The six purposes of my brand of coaching are to improve performer coachability, help the performer get unstuck, enhance performer self-awareness, facilitate performer breakthroughs, uncover potential and build performer skills, and help create and implement performer plans for action.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Day to Day Living?

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I think back to the days growing up the my little brother Mike, who is now deceased. We were two peas in a pod. He was always getting me into trouble coming up. I have many great childhood memories with him since we were so close in age. It was always so funny every Christmas; we’d find our gifts that our parents tried to hide. This one year, our parents were on to us. So, one Christmas morning, we knew one of the presents under the tree was a Nintendo. When we went to open it, it was a box full of bricks. Our folks and big sister, Rhonda, just fell out with laughter at on disappointed faces. They got us good. They eventually gave us our gift.
