Community Highlights: Meet Rekira Luketic of Rekira Luketic Photography & The Co Station

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rekira Luketic.

Hi Rekira, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2010, I started working weekends for a local photography company that specialized in mass family photography, both here in Ohio and out of state. At the time, I was a student studying education, but I found myself more drawn to the creativity and fast pace of working behind the camera. In 2012, I shifted my focus and changed my major to visual communication and graphic design, concentrating specifically in photography. I continued working for large corporate photography companies while in school, which gave me a solid foundation in both technical skills and the business side of photography.

In 2016, I opened my first studio space, which marked the beginning of my journey into self-employment. That studio started small and was a stepping stone that eventually led to the evolution of my brand. I began photographing weddings in 2018, and over time, I found myself drawn more and more to the connection and storytelling that came with that part of the industry. As my love for wedding photography grew, I eventually stepped away from studio portrait work and began offering my studio as a creative rental space for other photographers.

This shift allowed me to focus solely on weddings while also creating space for others who were on the journey of building their own businesses. What started as one studio has now grown into multiple locations. My husband and I have since expanded our vision, launching additional rental studios that now serve as community hubs for photographers, educators, and small business owners across Northeast Ohio.

Today, I’m a full-time wedding photographer, content creator, and educator. Through my work, I’m committed not just to documenting love stories, but also to helping other creatives grow sustainable businesses. As the chapter leader for Rising Tide in Northeast Ohio, I also help lead community events, mentorship, and networking opportunities that support connection and collaboration in the creative industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth, but every challenge has played a role in shaping the business I have today. Over the years, I’ve learned how important it is to adapt—whether that’s evolving with photography trends, adjusting to the needs of clients, or staying on top of ever-changing technology and social media. I’ve continued investing in mentorships and ongoing education to not only avoid burnout but also to continue growing both creatively and as a small business owner.

What worked in 2010 or even 2020 doesn’t always work now, and that’s okay. Staying relevant means being open to change and willing to learn. It also means surrounding yourself with a strong, supportive community—because entrepreneurship can feel isolating without people around you who truly understand the ups and downs. I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made and the growth that’s come from embracing this ever-evolving industry.

As you know, we’re big fans of Rekira Luketic Photography & The Co Station. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Rekira Luketic Photography and The Co Station are two distinct brands that work hand-in-hand to serve both clients and creative entrepreneurs in a meaningful way. While I’m known for my wedding photography—especially my editing style, professionalism, and ability to create a seamless experience for couples—my reach extends beyond capturing beautiful moments.

Through my work, I’ve built a strong reputation in the creative community, which has naturally evolved into The Co Station: a welcoming space designed for photographers and small business owners to connect, learn, and grow. What sets us apart is the genuine support system we’ve cultivated—one that encourages community over competition, celebrates creativity, and offers real-world tools and mentorship to help others thrive.

From business mindset and CRM guidance to social media marketing, content creation, and industry trends, I offer support rooted in experience and a deep understanding of what today’s entrepreneurs need. I’m proud to say that both of my brands are grounded in authenticity, connection, and the belief that when one of us succeeds, we all do.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me as a business owner is having the chance to build a life that reflects my values—both at home and in my work. I’m incredibly grateful for the flexibility this path has given me to be present as a mother and wife, while also doing work that I truly enjoy. That kind of balance is something I don’t take lightly.

Along the way, I’ve been lucky to experience things I never expected—traveling, meeting amazing people near and far, and forming connections that mean so much to me.

More than anything, it brings me a lot of happiness to see others grow and find success in their own journeys. If I can play even a small part in helping someone move forward or feel supported, that means the world to me.
