Community Highlights: Meet Quentin Pardōn of QP’s Imagery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quentin Pardōn

Hi Quentin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography has always been part of my life due to the fact my father (the man above) had always taken pictures of me growing up. No matter what activity I was participating in, he was always present to take the picture with his trusty camera in hand. As I grew older, I started gaining interests in many fields such as literature and sports but photography followed suit as well.

I became a journalist at my local community college while studying journalism and media communications. Not only did I interview and write the articles, taking photos came with the job. As I rose up the ranks to assistant editor, I would cover all the sections in the newspaper from sports to local businesses to events on campus. This expanded my range of photography to new levels as I was faced with unique opportunities to learn from and it taught me how to photograph a wide variety of different subjects.

This started off as a job but truthfully it feels more like a joyful privilege. Labeling this a hobby in my life would demean something I hold highly in value. I see the significance of taking pictures as many didn’t have the luxury of having photos of themselves throughout their life. I take pride in each & every shoot I am in charge of because I know how much it means to have a collection of great quality pictures that you can look back on forever.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t say it’s been easy but definitely not rough. I would say the toughest challenge for me is making time for editing and trying to continue learning more about the craft each day. Photography and videography is always evolving and you want to stay ahead of the game or you’ll get left behind. Time management, growth and networking are the main things I focus on this journey of entrepreneurship.

We’ve been impressed with QP’s Imagery, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in large events, portraits, street photography and themed photoshoots.

What sets me apart from others in my field is my positive & social attitude. I try my best to make the client not only comfortable but the shoot a fun , remarkable activity that they can brag about and remember, making them comeback for more.

I’m proud that my brand is known for consistency and quality. QP’s Imagery wants the customer to experience a unique yet wonderful time whenever you book with me. I understand how much photos mean to people in the long run so I take great pride and effort into my work. You will always get the most bang for your buck while getting treated like a lifelong friend. My services can be found on my website where the rest of my work and bookings are available at.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Surround yourself around others who are supportive and are in the same field as you. It’s hard staying levelheaded and consistent while hanging with peers who doubt, don’t understand and don’t value your passion. Don’t expect to thrive in a climate that doesn’t have the proper resources to survive in.

Don’t have a big ego. Be the person who can be humble yet still have self respect. It’s great that you finally booked that big gig or that you bought the latest high tech product but don’t become a photographer/videographer that loses touch with reality. Your first impression and demeanor is what pulls customers first, not your work. You can take the best shots and have the best ideas but if you’re not respectful and mindful of who you are working for/with, you will begin to get a bad reputation.

Find your niche and build on it. Nothing like being well known for a specific skill. You will always have business opportunities
