Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Mundy.
Hi Nick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The pressure of overcoming addiction, alcoholism, debt, and cancer while being a top performer professionally and the sole provider for my family could have been crushing. Instead, it was transformational.
Pressure can break you, or it can make you. The choice is always yours and I chose to take control. I created MUNDY MINDSET LLC, our Mindset & Life Coaching business because life is short, unfair, and unpredictable. I want to show others that you are capable of and deserve to cultivate a life that is purposeful, meaningful, and fulfilling regardless of your current circumstances. You already contain everything in you that you need to make your life’s transformation. You’re never out of the fight. If you woke up this morning and have breath in your lungs, you have a purpose and an amazing opportunity to improve and change your life.
Mundy Mindset is living life to its fullest potential while leading in a manner that inspires and elevates those around you to do the same. I believe it’s my purpose to offer guidance and leadership to assist others on their journey of becoming the best version of themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road here has been extremely challenging filled with potholes, detours, setbacks, and challenges but I wouldn’t change it for anything because it’s made me the man I am today. Some of the challenges I’ve experienced over the past 9 years include:
I was diagnosed with a rare Autoimmune Disease and Heart Disease at the age of 24 in July of 2014 following 12 months of doctors’ visits, surgeries, confusion, and losing 49lbs. I began chemotherapy for the first time in August of 2014.
I suffered from the insanity of battling addiction and alcoholism from the age of 19 to 28 and finally checked myself into in-patient rehab on May 30, 2018, in hopes of saving my life, marriage, and career.
On February 17th, 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage III-IV Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma – Nodal Marginal Zone B-cell Lymphoma. My Oncologists believe that my Auto-Immune disease mutated into a full-blown Lymphoma. I started Chemotherapy for my new diagnosis on March 24th & 25th and continued every 4 weeks through August 11th & 12th. This journey was extremely challenging for me and my entire family as I was hospitalized on several different occasions, adjusting to life with very low White Blood Cell and Neutrophil counts in the middle of a pandemic.
