Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Piccione
Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I landed here in my life solely on accident. I was working full-time for a dental practice when I got very sick and ended up in the hospital for 3 months. My employers promised me that my job would be intact when I returned, but they went back on their word. My full-time job had been given to someone else, and I was stuck with a measly 2 days a week. I knew I could not live on a paycheck with 2 days of work. I had to either find another job and rely on a new boss, or take my future into my own hands and find a way to only need to rely on myself. I chose the latter. Luckily, my parents, who are retired jewelers, were willing to listen to my plea to mentor me. That November evening, asking my dad if he would take this journey with me to change my life was the best leap of faith on myself I ever took. I went from making my first necklace in the basement of their house to opening the doors to my very first high jewelry boutique within a span of 4 years. Now, I work full-time for myself doing my dream job. Back in college, I wanted to be in this industry but I was scared of the risks. Once the risks of my “secure” job reared its head, I realized the only bet worth taking is the one on myself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Trust, relationships, and reputations are everything in this industry. It took me a long time to build the trust and relationships with my vendors and clients to slowly grow into an active, reputable player in the field. I was so lucky to find the right people to do business with, who saw the sparkle in my eye, and were willing to give me a chance to prove myself. Now, these relationships are stronger than we all ever imagined they could be – now going to each others’ weddings and family events. I just needed someone to believe in me and give me the chance to be great.
I also needed to find my confidence and belief in myself to do the hard thing. If I didn’t trust my gut instinct, didn’t believe that I could turn pressure into diamonds, I never would have made it this far. I am so lucky that I did the hard work, had faith in myself to make a career out of this, and stayed the course even when others around me weren’t sure it was possible.

Megan Piccione High Jewelry (MPJ) is a private, by-appointment-only luxury jewelry concierge and boutique specializing in custom design. This concept is very different from your everyday jewelry stores in that we reserve private appointments for clients in the showroom and collaborate together on creating their custom piece of jewelry – and then manufacture it ourselves. From design to delivery, we take care of everything.
MPJ is a one-stop shop for all jewelry needs in addition to the concierge services. We also specialize in sourcing ultra-rare fancy color diamonds, offering ready-to-wear fashion in the boutique, and manufacturing bespoke designs all in one shop. We are proud to have a Graduate Gemologist, Master Watchmaker, and Clockmaster on our team to truly handle every aspect of your needs.
We are proud to be a female-owned and operated business.
Although I design and manufacture my own line, I also carry two special designers, Simon G., and Piranesi, to cater a diverse collection of jewelry for all clients.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Comparison is the thief of joy. If I compared my company, marketing strategies, and successes to those I most admire, I would not only be devaluing my work, but never recognizing the differences that make my business special. I would absolutely demotivate myself every single day. What I have going for my business works for me. I have found my niche, and thankfully, I followed that gut instinct 4 years ago. By believing in myself and my dreams, I am thriving. Anyone can do it, but you have to believe in yourself, be motivated to work hard, find where the market needs you, and run with it!
