Hi Kenzie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into sunless tanning really started with something deeply personal. My mom was diagnosed with skin cancer, and it completely shifted how I thought about sun exposure and how I cared for my skin. I had always loved that sun-kissed glow, but I realized the risks just weren’t worth it. In search of a safer alternative, I turned to sunless tanning — first self-tanner, then spray tans — and I was hooked. But, it wasn’t just about the tan; it felt incredible to protect my skin from UV exposure, while still achieving that fresh, radiant glow. That’s when I realized I could share that feeling and experience with others.
With my knowledge of color theory, I understood that spray tanning isn’t one-size-fits-all. Everyone is unique, with different skin tones, undertones, skin types, lifestyles, and color/aesthetic goals. I knew I could offer a more personalized experience that would enhance each client’s natural beauty. Driven by my knowledge and my passion for creating a safer, more customized option, I launched Glowfully You — a luxury, vegan spray tan studio in Avon Lake, where every tan is completely bespoke, elevated, and designed to give you your best glow ever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but that’s all part of the journey, right? There have been challenges — from learning the ins and outs of the industry to navigating the ups and downs of being a business owner, and perfecting every detail of the process. But through it all, I’ve grown so much, and each step has been so worth it. The real joy comes from seeing my clients leave feeling confident and glowing, knowing I’ve created an experience that truly elevates them.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What’s not to love about our city? There’s a real sense of pride in the area, and I’m glad to call it home! If I had to pick something I like least, it’d be the weather— it definitely likes to keep us on our toes! But, I always keep an umbrella at the studio and walk clients out to their cars, if it’s raining. Your glow is safe, even on the wildest weather days.
