Hi Joyce, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My passion for braiding started with helping people feel beautiful and confident. What began as a small braiding business has grown into Braids On Point Agency, where we connect clients with talented braiders and salons throughout the Dayton, Ohio area. We offer all types of braiding services for women, men, and children. What makes our agency unique is that we also create opportunities for skilled braiders who prefer working from home or in a quieter environment instead of a busy salon, while helping local salons fill more appointment slots with new clients. As a wife, mother, and college student studying marketing, I’m passionate about building a business that empowers others, supports small beauty professionals, and delivers exceptional service to every client.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building Braids On Point Agency has not always been easy. Like many small business owners, I faced challenges finding consistent clients, managing marketing on a limited budget, and building trust as a new business. At the same time, I balanced being a wife, mother, and full-time college student. There were moments when I questioned myself, but I never gave up. Instead, I kept learning, improving my business, and creating new opportunities for both clients and talented braiders. Every challenge has made me stronger and reminded me that persistence, faith, and hard work can turn a simple idea into a growing business. Today, I’m proud to be building a company that not only serves clients but also creates opportunities for others.

If I could improve one thing, it would be making it easier for local small businesses to connect with more customers.
