Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Wilson.
Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After spending more than a decade working in the marketing industry, I finally decided to give into the entrepreneurial pull I’ve always felt. Throughout my career, I’d gained a wide range of experience, developed a clear perspective on what effective and meaningful marketing can look like, and I felt ready to build something of my own.
During that time, I had the opportunity to work closely with my now business partner, Carly. Carly has built a career in graphic design and is immensely talented at bringing concepts and ideas to life with strong, smart, and beautiful design. Working with Carly felt effortless. We complemented each other naturally, leaned into each other’s strengths, and shared the same values and work ethic. When it came time to venture out on my own, I knew I wanted her by my side. Together, we felt unstoppable.
So we took a leap of faith and started Jely Creative — a mini (yet mighty) marketing agency built on curiosity, creativity, and custom solutions designed to meet each client where they are. Our mission from day one has been to use our “marketing powers” for good – helping entrepreneurs and businesses with heart turn their ideas into action. We believe in doing good work for good people, and that’s how we hope to build a stronger, more connected community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with clients who trusted us from day one and who continue to refer us to their networks. That support has given us a steady flow of work and, honestly, a really rewarding mix of long term partnerships.
But it hasn’t been completely seamless. In our first year, we learned that our business has its own seasonality. That first quiet stretch felt scary and we wondered if the work was drying up or if the momentum had stopped. Within a few weeks, things picked back up, but the uncertainty in those slow months was real.
Since then, we’ve learned to anticipate the natural ebb and flow. We plan ahead, we map out project timelines more strategically, and we use the quieter periods to strengthen the business instead of worrying about it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

For Jenn: Mother / Founder has been inspiring as I started this business with a 9-month-old and have since had my second daughter. Having two small children and building a business has been challenging and empowering.
I also joined Together Digital – a community of women working in the digital space and it has been incredible. The resources, events, and the peer group I am a part of have helped tremendously so that I can continue to learn and grow as an entrepreneur and a marketer.
For Carly: Good Hang with Amy Poehler brings positivity and laughter to my life. Notion Calendar helps me keep my life in order.
I also like to get inspiration from Pinterest, Dribbble, and Creative Boom.
