Today we’d like to introduce you to Felisa Dees.
Hi Felisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for fashion and smell goods, such as perfumes and candles. When the opportunity presented itself that allowed me to start my own business. Through trial and many errors, I now have multiple businesses around fashion and fragrant candles.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t say the road has been smooth because I started my business from scratch with no business experience. I literally learned as I went along. I was always blessed enough to have business individuals around me that didn’t mind sharing some insight and things I should be doing. That allowed me to lay the proper foundation and jump ahead. The main thing I use to struggle with was me delegating some tasks to others to free some of my time up. I use to feel like I had to do everything myself but getting help from others who know more than me and who has more experience than me has helped me tremendously.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Model Chic is my new brand. It’s a brand that has clothing, accessories, and scented candles. It’s a brand I’m super passionate about because when I created this brand, I wanted to create a brand that most women can connect with. Our slogan is “clothing and candles for the model that’s inside of you.” Model Chic is a brand that’s for women who are aspiring to be classy, confident, comfortable while manifesting the life they want. Our logo tees can be worn with anything. They can be worn with your favorite pair of jeans, workout pants, or dress pants in the office. They are super comfortable as well. We also offer hoodies, mugs, hats, and scented candles. We will continue adding various products as the brand grows. Our online store grand opening was on May 15, 2022. I’m super excited to see how far this brand will go.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe anything worth having will require risk. Becoming an entrepreneur, I believe is a risk within itself. You have to risk something to get what you want in return. No risk, no reward. I believe that.
