Community Highlights: Meet David Tirpak of Miracle K9 Training LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Tirpak.

Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As someone who never had dogs growing up I was actually quite afraid of dogs for most of my life. That quickly changed after I moved out on my own, began meeting people with dogs, and was convinced that maybe getting one could be a fun thing as I saw how much these dogs were enhancing the lives of their owners. I found a dog in the shelter system and it was love at first sight. When I decided I was going to adopt her I had one contingency, hire a trainer Immediately to ensure she wasn’t poorly behaved like all of the dogs I knew growing up that led me to be nervous around them. One thing led to another, I loved the process of training my dog, and proceeded to work with multiple trainers in the Cleveland area as I wanted to continue to grow my knowledge of the craft and improve my relationship with my dog. This led me to working for one of the companies kickstarting my journey doing this professionally. After just over two years of that I started my first dog training business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not in the slightest. As someone who never had goals of owning his own business, I didn’t know the first thing about running a company. I was also very young and had a ton of personal growing to do in the realm of managing relationships with clients who were making an enormous emotional and financial commitment into having their dog trained, Learning to be a leader for the employees I had that worked along side me doing the work, and getting past a lot of the ego you have early on when you think you know FAR more than you actually do. Most of these things you learn through making mistakes and staying open and honest when mistakes happen by taking full responsibility for them, not blaming exterior factors, and making sure you pivot to ensure they don’t happen again. Finding mentorship was very important for all of this for me.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Miracle K9 Training is a dog training and rehabilitation facility. We specialize in working with troubled dogs struggling with behavior issues ranging from anxiety, aggression, reactivity, fear, and any other problems that may be getting in the way of the dog having a great relationship with their owner. We also offer client exclusive daycare and boarding so when youre out of town you have somewhere you can take your dog where there are ONLY well behaved dogs and staff that can maintain your training while youre gone. We are set apart from others in our level of follow up support and long term care. To my knowledge there isn’t a single company out there that will provide as in depth of long term support for the lifetime of the dog as we do. This results in the thing that I am the most proud of which is our reputation. We are the highest rated and reviewed dog training facility in our region and one of the highest in the country with not a single negative testimonial. that doesn’t mean everything is always rainbows and butterflies, but it DOES mean that we put our clients first and foremost, we admit our mistakes when they are made and strive to make it right in every situation, and we are going to give you the highest possible chance of success with your dog.

What’s next?
We are constantly looking at our company under a microscope. The only way to keep improving is by finding the holes in what you are currently doing. Once per year we try to review all of our programs / processes and find the nagging little details that are causing us to be less effective, less efficient, or bog down the process for our clients. We have no major changes aside from continue to improve what it is that were doing for ourselves and our clients.
