Community Highlights: Meet Carla Roesch of Wild By Nature LLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Roesch.

Hi Carla, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“I never planned on becoming a florist; you could say that it found me. I have a Fine Arts Degree in painting, but I’ve always drawn inspiration from nature. Growing up, my mother was an avid gardener who loved flowers, and I’m sure that’s where my love of flowers began.
My first experience in the floral industry was at a local floral store where I made corsages and boutonnieres during prom season. They must’ve liked my work because soon after, they asked me to join the team as a flower processor. I did whatever was needed—greening up vases, ordering product, cleaning the cooler, making artificial door pieces, memorial pieces, and more. It was a bit of everything, but it gave me the foundation I needed.
Then, my nephew asked me to do my first wedding. This is where my mentor noticed my talent and encouraged me to grow. I started helping with more weddings, and I remember the first bridesmaid bouquet I ever did. I asked my mentor when she’d train me on bouquets, and she told me something I’ll never forget: You have to discover your own style, not mine. And so began my journey of trial and error—let’s just say there were a lot of bad bouquets at first!
I taught myself about flower names, growing seasons, and started studying my favorite designers. Slowly, I worked my way up in the industry. After 16 years, I finally had the courage to step out on my own, terrified but determined. Wild by Nature Design was born.
Once the business was up and running, I began to evolve my style. I started looking at upcoming trends and studying successful florists, trying to understand how they achieved success. I became fascinated with eco-friendly, foam-free installations and large-scale pieces. I began teaching myself how to work with chicken wire, tape grids, moss, and pin frogs (the Japanese art form of ikebana), striving to embrace every foam-free technique I could. For me, it was about bringing art and florals together in an elevated way.
I started growing my own flowers to offer something truly special. At first, I grew flowers for my larger weddings, but now I also grow for funeral arrangements and residential deliveries.
One of the most special moments I’ll never forget was seeing my bride’s face light up when she realized the flowers for her wedding were growing just for her. There’s something incredibly meaningful about that, and it’s moments like those that remind me why I do this. We’re up to 8 flower beds and a small section in the yard, and every year, it gets better.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a brand from scratch was a challenge, but I had an incredible support system. My daughter and son played a huge role in making it happen—I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without them. I had no idea how to navigate social media, but my daughter, with her marketing degree, jumped right in and created my social presence. My son, with his graphic design degree, helped me create the logo. And of course, my husband is the one who handles all the numbers—he’s my accountant and my rock. My husband have supported me through every decision I’ve made, even though it’s meant more work for him. Together, we formed the perfect triangle to launch Wild by Nature.
“Putting myself out there and stepping out of my comfort zone has been one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced. I constantly am pushing my limits when I’m designing. It’s not uncommon for me to do an arrangement 2 to 3 times. I want my arrangements to be different not the average arrangement.
Learning how to grow my own flowers was, and still is, another one of my biggest challenges, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Each year, I get better, and I feel more confident in what I’m doing. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m grateful for every step.”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Wild by Nature Design is a wedding and event florist that specializes in creating high-end, whimsical designs. I strive to be different with every event, and I never repeat the same wedding. For me, it’s all about continuous improvement—evolving and growing in my craft.
I’m most proud of my unique style, which I describe as a garden-inspired, whimsical, and organic aesthetic. My designs have a sense of movement—like the arrangement is in the middle of dancing or growing. You might see flowers of various heights, textures, and forms, from lush peonies to delicate wildflowers, intertwined with elements like vines, branches, and grasses. It’s as though the arrangement has been loosely gathered from nature, rather than precisely curated.
Creating floral designs is my way of painting with living materials. Each arrangement is a chance to push the boundaries of what’s expected, combining unexpected elements and textures to create something completely unique. It feels almost like sculpting—every flower, branch, and leaf has its place, but I love playing with their forms until the arrangement feels alive with energy and movement. It’s about more than making something beautiful—it’s about creating an experience, a visual story that pulls people in.
At Wild by Nature, we specialize in crafting unique, artful floral arrangements for weddings, corporate events, funerals, and other special occasions. Whether it’s a wedding that requires the perfect balance of elegance and natural charm, a corporate event that demands a creative touch, or a funeral tribute that is respectful and meaningful, we approach each arrangement with a deep understanding of the occasion’s significance.
I also started hosting workshops. These workshops have become a way to connect with others and share my passion for flowers in a hands-on way.
At Wild by Nature, flowers have the power to transform any event, adding depth, personality, and emotion to the moment. Our designs range from lush, whimsical bouquets for weddings to sophisticated and vibrant displays for corporate events, to carefully curated arrangements that honor the memory of loved ones. At the heart of every creation is a desire to capture the spirit of the occasion—flowers that are as unique and meaningful as the people they’re meant to celebrate.
From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, Wild by Nature brings an organic, artistic touch to every arrangement, ensuring your event feels truly one-of-a-kind.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
“While I’m currently working out of my garage, my ultimate dream for Wild by Nature is to open a welcoming storefront that becomes a creative hub for floral design lovers. This will be a place where people can purchase beautiful, one-of-a-kind arrangements and experience the joy of crafting something of their own. Imagine picking your own flowers, learning the art of arrangement, and walking away with a personalized, stunning creation to take home.
“At Wild by Nature, we are committed to creating beautiful, sustainable floral designs. As I continue to grow and refine my craft, one thing that will always remain central to my vision is our dedication to being completely foam-free in the future. We believe in working with nature, not against it, so we carefully choose materials that align with our values of sustainability and respect for the environment.
Though I’m still learning, every project is an opportunity to strengthen my skills, pushing the boundaries of creativity while maintaining the highest standards of artistry. I look forward to the day when Wild by Nature grows into a team of like-minded individuals, all driven by the same passion for unique, handcrafted, and eco-conscious floral arrangements. Whether I’m creating a whimsical wedding bouquet or a sophisticated corporate display, the journey of perfecting this craft is a deeply fulfilling one, and I can’t wait to share it with others who feel the same way.”
