Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Kraschinsky.
Hi Anthony, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey there my name is Anthony. I am an arborist and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am the owner of Bodhi Tree, LLC and I operate throughout the state of Ohio. I fell in love with the smell of chainsaws before I had even realized I had. I was probably 6 or so and my parents took me to the Paul Bunyan show in Nelsonville, where I was born. It was a festival put on by Hocking college and Stihl Timbersports. And it was amazing!! Jousting! Logrolling! Chainsaw sculpting…..which was always my favorite.
But then many years would cruise by…..grade school, high school, college at Hocking even. And it wasn’t until I moved to Cinci and met someone to teach me how to climb trees!! I was very confident and thought that since I already was a very good rock climber that I’d surely accel doing this……and I did!! Luckily for me because I invested my everything into it……blood, sweat, tears….money, time, and more time. But I was in love…..and home. Finally.
I love my job. More than even I may realize sometimes. I have been around saws my whole life and never really understood how to make something of it for myself and my family, until I just started doing it. I wanted more……and nothing was going to stop me.
And here I am, running my own little business so that maybe one day my son Bodhi will be interested in running his own tree business as well, Bodhi Tree, LLC.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had the most trouble leaving my previous company. I am a very loyal person, and so making the jump from being an employee of a larger company to running my own business was hard for me to do.
If I can get my life together and start my own business, then surely you can too. Because I am still amazed every day at what I have accomplished.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bodhi Tree, LLC is all about building relationships and communication through that process. Ya, we prune and remove trees. We will fertilize and feed your trees if they need some extra love. But really, it’s all about communicating what the trees need, to you, and then being the one to exercise those needs with a saw, or fertilizer, or an insecticide. We are consistently losing more and more trees every day. So someone has got to speak out for our trees and try to keep as many of them around as possible.
Of course, there are circumstances where something may be hazardous. Then, sometimes, it must be remedied in a more invasive way.
That doesn’t mean leaving out the client either! They deserve to be in the loop as well!! And that’s where the communication comes into play…..texting, emails, phone calls…
The options really are endless with tree work. And so that’s really another thing that sets us apart. Because at the end of the day, we’re working for you.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Communication.
If I say I will be there at noon, then by God I’ll be there. Unless my boy needs a ride…..because I’m basically his chauffeur.
Seriously though…..lots of phone calls, texts, and emails. People like to know what’s going on and so we like to keep them in the loop. Plus I’m Italian and I talk a lot.
