Today we’d like to introduce you to Adalyn Snead.
Adalyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Adalyn Snead, the owner of Sprig and Brie Charcuterie. Making charcuterie started as a fun hobby and a great appetizer for friends and family, and within just three days it turned into a business! My sweet mom, Annette, loves to brag on me and my two siblings, and due to her high praises, I started receiving daily orders to make charcuterie for my mom’s coworkers! Within those three days, I was asked to cater a wedding, a business meeting, and a dinner. And just like that Sprig and Brie Charcuterie was born! Over the last year and a half Sprig and Brie has grown more than I could have ever imagined. I truly put my heart and soul into this business every single day, but this business would not be successful without my extremely supportive and helpful husband, Josh, and of course, the incredible cheese-loving community!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wholeheartedly agree with Theodore Roosevelt when he said, “Nothing worth having comes easy.” As of now, I am still working a full-time job on top of solely running Sprig and Brie full time too. My time has definitely been the most sacrificed aspect in starting and running Sprig and Brie. As a wife and a small business owner (who also tries to have an occasional social life), I have learned to be very intentional with my time. On weekdays I work my 8-5 job, visit multiple grocery stores and then create beautiful, artisan charcuterie boxes and boards into the late evening or even early morning hours. My weekends are packed full with markets and grazing tables for weddings, showers, and other events! I typically don’t crawl into bed until 2 am and am back up around 6 am to prepare for the busy day ahead. Even though I may be exhausted you won’t catch me complaining! Each box, board, grazing table, market, or event fills this small business owner’s heart with joy and fuels me to keep going. Nothing worth having comes easy, and working two full-time jobs is just a season of life. My next season, Sprig and Brie Charcuterie being my one and only full-time job is just right around the corner!
As you know, we’re big fans of Sprig and Brie Charcuterie. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
When asked about my favorite Sprig and Brie products I’m never able to pick just one because each product allows me to be artistic and creative plus they are all so fun to make! Sprig and Brie Charcuterie offers multiple sizes and varieties of boxes, keepsake boards, grazing cups, charcuterie letters/numbers, and grazing tables along with teaching in-home charcuterie classes, catering, and markets! Sprig and Brie accommodates to any and all dietary restrictions and food preferences. All of this information can be found on Sprig and Brie’s Instagram @sprigandbriecharcuterie or can be sent to you by email at sprigandbriecharcuterie@gmail.com.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons that I’ve learned throughout the year and a half journey of Sprig and Brie is to never stop growing. I definitely don’t know everything about charcuterie or running a business and I’m constantly learning and challenging my charcuterie skills. I thoroughly enjoy listening to business podcast and meeting other entrepreneurs who are willing to share advice, swap success stories, and encourage one another in our business endeavors!
