Check Out William Harris’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Harris.

Hi William, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story started with a genuine love for creativity and a desire to build something meaningful for myself and my family. Photography became the first outlet that allowed me to turn that creativity into something tangible. I began by learning everything I could, practicing consistently, and taking on opportunities that helped me grow both technically and professionally.

Like many entrepreneurs, I did not begin with a perfect plan or unlimited resources. I was balancing work, family responsibilities, and the process of figuring out what type of creative I wanted to become. Every photoshoot, client interaction, mistake, and small win taught me something about storytelling, customer service, marketing, and running a business.

Over time, I realized that my passion extended beyond simply taking great photographs. I enjoyed helping people and businesses present themselves professionally, communicate their value, and build a stronger presence online. That led me to expand into content creation, branding, marketing, and website design.

Today, I am continuing to grow Will Harris Photo while developing WH Creative, a creative service brand focused on helping entrepreneurs and small businesses improve their visuals and digital presence. I am also using my background in business and finance to create educational resources that help other creatives understand pricing, profitability, and the business side of their talents.

I am still building, learning, and evolving, but I am proud of how far I have come. My journey has shown me that you do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. You simply have to be willing to start, remain consistent, and continue developing into the person and professional you want to become.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing entrepreneurship with work, family responsibilities, and everyday life. Building something from the ground up requires time, energy, and sacrifice, and there have been moments when I had to make progress with limited resources.

I have also had to overcome self-doubt and the pressure of feeling like everything needed to be perfect before I could move forward. In creative work, it is easy to compare your journey to people who appear to be further ahead, but I have learned that consistency and growth matter more than comparison.

Another major struggle was learning the business side of creativity. Being talented at photography or design is only one part of the equation. I also had to learn how to price my services, communicate with clients, market myself, manage expectations, and create systems that could make the business sustainable.

There have been setbacks, slow periods, and ideas that did not work exactly as planned. However, each challenge forced me to become more resourceful, disciplined, and adaptable. Those experiences helped shape the way I approach business today. I now understand that struggles are not always signs that you are on the wrong path; sometimes they are part of becoming prepared for the next level.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work sits at the intersection of photography, visual storytelling, branding, and business development. Through Will Harris Photo, I help individuals, entrepreneurs, organizations, and small businesses present themselves with confidence through professional photography and intentional visual content.

I specialize in creating images that feel polished but still authentic. Whether I am photographing a personal milestone, documenting an event, creating brand content, or helping a business strengthen its online presence, my goal is to understand the story behind the person or brand first. I do not want to simply deliver attractive images—I want the final product to communicate something meaningful and help the client move toward a larger goal.

My work has also expanded beyond photography through WH Creative, where I provide website design, branding support, content strategy, and digital solutions for entrepreneurs and small businesses. I especially enjoy working with people who have a strong vision but may not yet have the tools, resources, or digital presence needed to bring that vision to life.

What sets me apart is that I understand both the creative and business sides of the work. I bring experience in photography, marketing, finance, customer service, and entrepreneurship into every project. That allows me to think beyond the immediate deliverable and consider how the work can help a client build trust, attract customers, communicate their value, and create long-term opportunities.

I am most proud of the fact that I have continued building and expanding despite not having a perfect roadmap. I have turned my creativity into services, systems, educational resources, and real solutions for other people. I am also proud of the relationships I build with clients. I want people to feel comfortable, understood, and supported throughout the entire process.

Ultimately, I want to be known as someone who creates with purpose. My work is not only about producing something that looks good—it is about helping people see the value in themselves, their ideas, and the businesses they are working hard to build.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that may surprise people is that, although I am primarily known for photography and creative work, I have a strong interest and background in business, finance, technology, and education.

People often see the finished photographs, websites, or content, but they may not realize how much strategy happens behind the scenes. I naturally think about pricing, profitability, customer experience, marketing, systems, and how creative work can support someone’s long-term goals. That business mindset influences nearly everything I create.

I am also committed to continuously learning beyond my current field. I have explored areas such as business finance and cybersecurity because I believe creativity and technology are becoming increasingly connected. I do not see myself as someone who has to remain in only one category.

At my core, I am a builder. Photography may be the most visible part of what I do, but I am equally passionate about learning, solving problems, creating opportunities, and helping other people turn their ideas into something real and sustainable.
