Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Fowler.
Hi Whitney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always loved weddings and have always been in them and apart of them with family and friends. I would help design and make sure their day went exactly how they wanted it to. I knew I always wanted to be in the wedding industry I just didn’t know where I would fit in. I was modeling for a styled shoot and recognized the planner of the shoot and instantly connected with her. I assisted her with weddings for a summer and instantly fell in love with the planning process. Since then I have yet to look back and enjoy growing in this industry. I am in my third season and busy as ever but wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It is always tricky starting a new business especially when you are starting from scratch. It is a learning process with every wedding and the experience has helped me grow within the industry and myself. Becoming a certified wedding and event planner through the Certified Wedding Planner Society really changed a lot for me. This program is the world’s leading wedding planner certification program and I am able to stay up to date on the latest trends and knowledge that help me serve my couples to the best of my ability. Once I became certified it helped my confidence tremendously. I think that was my biggest challenge, believing in myself and knowing I was doing exactly what I am meant to be doing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a certified Wedding and Event Planner, I specialize and am known more for weddings. I do a lot of month of coordination but am growing more in partial planning and wedding design. I help my couples with big decisions and the smallest details. Making sure all of the vendors are on the same page and everyone has an itinerary for the day so we all know what will be next the day of the wedding. I take the most pride in knowing that I am not only serving my couples but also serving my vendors/venue throughout the day. Making sure everyone is fed and hydrated and most importantly on the same page. Taking stress off of the couples parents/bridal party so they can enjoy the day and not have to work or worry. If I can make everyone’s job easier, it always leads to everyone being happy at the end of the night!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Growing up I loved being around my family. I am Italian so I have a huge family and we are spread out across the U.S. Visiting family in Las Vegas and California were my most favorite childhood memories. And any time we can all get together, to this day is my happy place. Family is very important to me, any chance I get to see extended or close family – I am there.
