Today we’d like to introduce you to The 180 Westside Harvest Center
Hi The 180, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
About 10 years ago we opened up a very similar teen center on Saturday nights to provide a safe space for teens to be able to come off of the streets, have some good wholesome fun and introduce the love of Christ to a whole generation! At the time we were in an era where youth violence and the opioid pandemic was rapidly rising. At the time this center was ran through a local church and only ended as outreach focus changed directions to recovery .
Recently, as a group of us reunited we felt the pull from God to do it again. We have seen a shift in the community and want to see a generation experience the love of Christ through pouring out the gifts and talents God has given to each of us. We have a passion to see teens know and understand that they are created with purpose and are fully made to be loved, no matter the circumstances they have faced.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve certainly experienced both blessings and challenges during this startup journey. When we purchased the building, it was evident that it needed significant updates. Coincidentally, it was bought on the same date as the opening night of the first teen center, which was 12 years ago! The property purchase process was smooth. However, the interior renovations had their own timeline, with its own set of ups and downs. Nevertheless, the building’s interior has undergone a complete transformation and is now fully functional.
As a team, we’ve spent months deciphering protocols and working through various scenarios to ensure the best protection of these teens while providing them with a fun and secure environment.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The CEO and Vice President, Marc and Jeanice Rosenblum, own and operate the renowned Bargains and Buyouts Home, situated on the Westside. They have been actively involved in ministry for the past two decades.
Our staff team comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds, including managerial positions, educational backgrounds and various ministry roles.

.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the big things we’ve learned over the years Of doing this is relationship over religion is key
Statistic show only one in five teens do not have someone they feel comfortable with sharing their issues or The ability to ask for help to navigate through them
Through genuinely caring the way that Jesus would we have been able to Provide that help to many.
