Hi Tawana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Well, I have always done hair ever since I can remember but my love for hair began after I graduated high school. I didn’t go to hair school straight from high school it took me working jobs that didn’t fulfill me or satisfied my purpose. After I had my second & last child that’s when I knew I needed to go to cosmetology school to live out my dream of becoming a hairstylist
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. I started out working for a chain salon and from then started my own business. I would say staying up a business can be very challenging. When you’re your own boss you work harder! I am a one-man show so if something goes wrong it all falls on my shoulders but I would say I wouldn’t change a thing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am hairstylist/ salon owner. I specialize in Silkpress on natural hair, hair extensions & healthy hair care. I’m really known for healthy hair care. I’m most proud that I’m consistent in my business. If you asked my clients a question about me, I believe they would answer the same. I think what sets me apart from others is I really care about the health of my client’s hair. I will never compromise my client’s hair for money or vanity.
