Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy O’livia Wortham
Hi Stacy O’livia , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well I became a trans woman about 15 years ago, I was kicked out my parents home when I decided to come out as finding myself, i then soon found a program called Daybreak were they provide housing for homeless, runaways,LGBTQ kids & i so happened to fall under that category, I end up moving in literally right away and had a caseworker named Mr, Matt who completely changed my life, I then began to have identity crisis and he helped me figure out who Stacy was, now I’m 34 living in my truth I am a single mother of a 5 year little boy, I also rap, model & would love being an advocate for LGBTQ & people living or coming out of Domestic Violence situations, I speak from experience and have a whole lot to talk about!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh no not at, I went from losing friends family members, I was once living out of hotels and in my car for 6 months , I start walking the streets, feeling unaccepted , I felt misunderstood & miss placed, I didn’t know who I could turn to, what my purpose was in life , I almost died of a broken heart and depression , I literally was in the hospital deteriorating from a man who was so horrible to me, & who also knocked my tooth out! So I had to make a change in how I lived and who I wanted to become.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Well, I have a passion for music, I pour my experience into rapping, I’m very open, unique and authentic with my work. I also model and advocate for us trans & gay artists.
What’s sets me apart from everyone is that, I fight for people who never thought they could win, I help guide others in believing in themselves selves & never give up on whatever it is that they want to do in life.
