Simon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m an IT Project Manager with a commitment to helping nonprofits thrive. Originally from Boston, I now live in Ohio, where I manage a variety of IT projects and work closely with teams to deliver successful outcomes. With a focus on efficiency and innovation, I enjoy navigating complex challenges and finding solutions that drive results for both clients and stakeholders.

I’m particularly passionate about using my skills to support nonprofit organizations, helping them leverage technology to maximize their impact and better serve their communities.

While I’m deeply focused on my work in IT right now, my long-term goal is to move to California and pursue a full-time career as an actor. Until then, I’m dedicated to growing in my current role, contributing to meaningful causes, and making a positive difference wherever I can.

Outside of work, I love exploring new opportunities, staying involved in my local community, and preparing for the next chapter in my journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life isn’t always easy, and I’ve faced my fair share of challenges along the way. As someone who is queer and biracial, navigating the world has often meant balancing multiple identities that don’t always align with societal expectations. It’s been a journey of self-realization—learning to embrace who I am, despite the pressure to fit into boxes others try to create for me. There are moments of doubt and struggle, but I’ve come to understand that these challenges are part of the process.

To cope with it all, I make a conscious effort to prioritize self-care. Whether it’s through meditation, creative expression, or simply setting boundaries that protect my peace, I know that taking care of my mental and emotional well-being is essential. It’s a continuous process of growth, and while there are ups and downs, I’ve learned to honor my journey and accept myself fully, just as I am.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in IT project management, where I bring a combination of technical expertise and strategic vision to lead teams and drive successful project outcomes. My work spans across a variety of industries, helping organizations streamline processes, implement new technologies, and solve complex challenges. I’m known for my ability to break down complicated projects into clear, actionable steps, while also maintaining a strong focus on the bigger picture.

What I’m most proud of is my flexibility and adaptability. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a diverse array of professional settings, from corporate environments to nonprofit organizations. Each experience has required me to think on my feet, pivot quickly, and find creative solutions to unexpected challenges. I’m able to stay calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver results—no matter the circumstances.

What truly sets me apart, though, is my creative approach to IT project management. While many see IT as purely technical, I bring an artist’s mindset to the table. I’m able to think outside the box and find innovative ways to approach problems. This creativity not only helps me solve technical challenges, but also allows me to connect with people from all walks of life and build effective, collaborative teams. It’s that balance of technical acumen and creative problem-solving that I believe sets me apart from others in my field.

What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I plan to move to California and pursue a full-time career as an actor. Right now, I’m based in Ohio, and while it might seem like an unconventional place for an aspiring actor, the cost of living here has allowed me to focus on making a strong financial foundation. I’m working hard to pay down my student loans and car loans, and being in Ohio gives me the flexibility to save while still pursuing my passions.

I’m already signed with a few agencies and have built a strong support network, which helps me stay connected to the industry, even from afar. Plus, with my job being remote, I have the flexibility to manage my work while pursuing acting opportunities and building my career. I’m focused on laying the groundwork now so that when the time is right, I’ll be able to make my move to California with the confidence and resources to fully commit to my acting dreams.
