Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan K. Holly Jr.
Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Started preaching at the age of 10 years old, inspired by watching Roosevelt J Sanders at Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Later transitioned to UMWW where he was mentored by Apostle William M Payne. Attended Crossroads Bible college, graduated with associate degree in youth Christian Ministry, later acquired bachelor’s degree (in Pastoral Leadership). After attend college, was licensed as a minister and served as a youth minister at UMWW for 2 years. Elevated to an elder and started serving in different compacities such as youth pastor, executive pastor, and public relations for a 10-year span. During the onset of Covid Pastor Ryan began to preach online, and his following and influence grew tremendously reaching thousands of people every day. Now Pastor Ryan’s Love for Jesus and preaching the gospel has and continues to reach millions of people every day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been smooth.
Establishing an online church is new, and there is no real blueprint on what and how to do it. There has been a lot of trial and error, and at moments it is difficult to Pastor people who are in different cities, countries, and states. There have been different challenges with how to keep people engaged and interested in learning the word of Jesus Christ virtually.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Known for being a creator of the first online church. Specialize in planting churches, developing people, and creating strategies to serve the communities that we will be planting churches in. Most proud of my influence, reach, and expansion within the last 2 years. Being able to reach celebrities, politicians, and people from all walks of life and knowing that their life is being transformed through the power of God that is on my life.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I think that it is important that people have an understanding of who they are and where they are trying to go.
As far as finding the right mentorship, I believe that it is better to get knowledge and guidance from someone who has more than you (from the perspective of advice that they can offer you) or someone who has walked the same (or similar) paths that you are trying to go. This way you are able to evolve and learn from someone who has experience and wisdom on how to succeed in the things that you are trying to do.
