Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Chapman.
Hi Patricia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Patricia Chapman and I am the owner of Keoni Cosmetics. As a young child, I developed a passion for cosmetic products such as make up. I would wear my mother’s makeup all the time as I played dress-up. I wore makeup in public for the very first time in ninth grade of high school. From that point, I taught myself different glam styles. I would get compliments of how my eyebrows were on “fleek” throughout high school.
It was not until I was a young adult in college where I believed that my vision as a makeup artist and cosmetic line could become reality. I realized that I was talented in multiple ways and I knew that I did not want to limit myself. I decided that I would start taking clients as a makeup artist but also create a beauty cosmetics line named after my son, Keoni.
Today, Keoni Cosmetics is thriving and growing. We are giving back to the community in the best way we know how. I am so excited that our customers and clients enjoy their products and services. We thrive to give the best quality but also affordable beauty cosmetic products!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have learned that the road is not always smooth. As a makeup artist, I have learned how to love and own my craft but also valuing the importance of individuality and uniqueness within my craft. There’s always room for improvement to provide the ultimate shopping and glam service experiences. We are always trying to find ways to reach out to our future clients and customers about Keoni Cosmetics.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a freelance makeup artist that is paving my way through the cosmetic and beauty industry. I absolutely love and enjoy the work that I do. There’s nothing more exciting and heartfelt about the work I do but the reactions of my clients after their glam services. I love seeing their smiles, confidence and happiness as they glaze in the mirror at themselves. It’s the most rewarding feeling that I feel as a makeup artist. It makes me proud to know that the work that I do is an actual talent that I am blessed with.
How do you define success?
Success is knowing that I have accomplished my destiny. It’s knowing where I came from, knowing where I am going, and actually getting to my final destination. As a makeup artist, it is knowing that I achieved the ultimate goal which was to help others see their beauty and not what society considers beauty as everyone is beautiful in their own unique way. It is being able to help others recognize their unique beauty.
