Check Out Paris Stewart’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Stewart.

Hi Paris, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From the time I was 9 years old, I knew I wanted to make t-shirts. I love art, designing, and creating things. Finally, at the age of 11, I decided I wanted to start a t-shirt business. I asked my mom, and she was a little hesitant at first in agreeing to purchase the equipment, but she did, and I’m glad she did! Initially, I started by drawing one character, and put the character on several shirts, and gave the shirts to my little cousins. Then I decided to create a group of characters, which I got Copyrighted as the BitsyBunch©. Not long after, I was asked to design labels and clothing for a local up-and-coming confectionary business, that led to other businesses requesting personalized clothing. And that’s when PareWear was born! I began designing sweatshirts with all types of graphics and phrases, and ultimately due to increase in sales and demand of products, my mother designed a website, PareWear.com. The business has taken off, and continues to grow!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has been a learning experience with a few bumps in the road. First, learning which materials to buy and which to steer clear of, the most economical places to purchase supplies, learning how to price label, and ship merchandise which was all very new to me. Also, I’m still a kid, so I had to balance the responsibilities of maintaining a business while being a successful student.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I design and sell graphic apparel. I specialize in designing tee shirts and hoodies/sweatshirts. I’m most proud of the amount of designs I have been able to create, and the response from customers. What sets me apart from others is that I come up with my own unique designs, and try to be as personable with my customers as possible to make sure they are satisfied with their purchases.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on this journey is the importance of paying attention to detail. The smallest thing can ruin the product and make it unappealing. Double-checking my work before packaging is also high on my list of priorities. Patience is another valuable lesson I learned, things don’t always work out the way you plan, rushing can cause a big decrease in the quality of a product. These lessons have transferred over into my everyday life!
