Check Out Nyx Sloan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyx Sloan.

Hi Nyx, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Spectre Sisters started out in July of 2025 with the three hosts Nyx, Bri, and Blue. When we first started, we would release two episodes a week but have now changed it to just one. Originally it was just something fun for us to do and a way to talk about all the things we enjoy. As we’ve continued to make episodes, we’ve developed quite the following. Most of our YouTube videos get around 600 views and we have over 1600 followers on instagram. We love making content and plan to continue doing so for as long as we can. The Spectre Sisters is also a podcast produced by Clock Tower Media that explores the strange, mysterious, and unexplained. The show combines research, storytelling, and discussion as the hosts investigate paranormal phenomena, true crime, folklore, and unexplained mysteries.

Episodes have covered topics such as:

Haunted locations and ghost stories
Paranormal investigations and supernatural claims
Cryptids and urban legends
Unsolved disappearances and missing persons cases
Historical mysteries and unexplained events
Listener-submitted paranormal experiences and spooky stories

In addition to covering established mysteries, we encourage audience participation by inviting listeners to:

Submit missing persons cases they’d like to see featured.
Share personal paranormal encounters and scary stories.
Recommend haunted locations, spooky events, and mysterious topics.
Invite the hosts to appear at paranormal events or participate in horror-related productions.

Overall, we aim to entertain and inform by exploring the line between fact and folklore while fostering a community of people fascinated by the unexplained. Whether discussing documented mysteries, local legends, or eerie internet phenomena.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part it’s been a relatively smooth road. The biggest challenge we’ve run into is learning how to edit the episodes and make the video portions. But even that went pretty well. Social media has been a new obstacle as well! We have to put our feelers out and see what type of content our viewers are interested in seeing. We want to use our platform to help boost other businesses and events so they can thrive as well.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have a podcast called Spectre Sisters that talks about everything creepy and weird from cryptids and ghosts to true crime. What sets us apart from others is that we treat every episode like it’s special and always try to release the best work that we possibly can. From covering missing persons cases to ghost stories sent in from viewers we want to create a hub for all things unexplainable and macabre. We are planning on teaming up with the downtown of Tipp City, Ohio to bring locals a ghost tour they won’t soon forget. We are always looking for more stories and more opportunities to connect with the spooky community.

One of our heavy hitting episodes highlights the Ohio State Reformatory. One of America’s most infamous haunted prisons. Blending historical research with chilling paranormal lore, we explore the reformatory’s origins as a prison for young first-time offenders, its eventual decline into a harsh maximum-security facility, and the suffering that unfolded within its walls before it closed in 1990. The prison later gained worldwide recognition as the primary filming location for The Shawshank Redemption, preserving the historic structure for future generations.

From there, we dive into the paranormal reputation that has made the reformatory a bucket-list destination for ghost hunters. We discuss reports of shadow figures stalking the cell blocks, unexplained footsteps echoing through empty corridors, disembodied voices, cold spots, and the lingering spirits said to haunt solitary confinement, the chapel, and the superintendent’s quarters. During the episode we decided to separate documented history from paranormal legend, encouraging listeners to decide for themselves what is fact, what is folklore, and whether the spirits of the Ohio State Reformatory truly remain trapped behind its imposing stone walls.
