Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Samps.
Hi Nick, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I go by the name of “Nick Samps”, I am a recording artist/audio engineer from Cleveland, oh, born and raised.
I’ve been into music since the age of 8 years old watching my older cousins and uncles freestyle and make songs, I didn’t really know if they had dreams of becoming “BIG” but they were dope enough to be an influence.
I also look up to artist such as Wu-Tang, Redman, LOX, DMX, Dave East, Notorious BIG & none the less “Bone Thugs N Harmony”, I have an unorthodox influence on my music, there’s more artist but the ones I picked are some of my biggest influences.
I have numerous project available on digital streaming platforms, and also music videos live on YouTube. My latest single “Emery Rd” is out everywhere with a music video and available for download. My newest collaboration project is about to be released Feb. 16th, 2022 with another Cleveland native by the name of Lavish Picasso.
I have so much in store and can’t wait to let the world hear the message I will be presenting but I’m the form of “candy”… I have a motive to change the world through my music, and hopefully people can grasp on to the message and relate to what I’m saying and use me as an influence to be a better human being.
No, I’m not a “conscious” rapper even though I have a big influence from it, but I know how to tap in by my storytelling ability through my music and I know how to keep the listeners’ ears.
Where I am today? I am headed to a road for success, longevity, morality, health, and wealth. I am thankful for my ups and downs because without them I would not be the man I am today. Experience is the best teacher, and knowledge & wisdom comes along with it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to success of being an established recording artist and audio engineer has been a road, lol. When you choose to be an entrepreneur, that road can get so hectic, you’d want to give up but when you remember where you were, and how far you’ve came, it’s like, “why would I stop now?”, even locally!
There is no limits to the mission unless you set them upon yourself. Pursing your dreams vs reality still be “reality” can be such a downer because sometimes, reality wins.
I’ve been in relationships with amazing women & and had jobs and never let it get in the way of my music. It’s not easy juggling them but as life go on you either learn or those things shy away from you eventually… that happened to me.
Going through heartbreaks and losing jobs definitely was always a motivation for me to go even harder with making music and engineering. I even had a daughter but she passed away back in 2015 due to medical malpractice. I use all my pain to be a part of what I’m trying to accomplish in life and spread my message. I feel if I’m still alive after dealing with the loss of my only baby girl, I gotta be one strong soul and keep it moving.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known as the cool, laid-back, storytelling ability through music, my audio engineer skills, & being musically inclined, as the artist Nick Samps from Cleveland Ohio.
I like to draw, I’m a secret artist. That talent also ran in my family from my grandfather on my mother side of the family.
I am most proud of myself at how I stay encouraged and blessed with the strength and wisdom to move forward while going through life’s trials.
I feel what sets me apart from others is the knowledge and wisdom that I gained through my life experience, I apply it and continue to move forward and hopefully one day I can influence others to realize the knowledge and wisdom that they were blessed with, and they’ll actually apply what they learn from their experience, instead of becoming BITTER individuals due to lack of knowledge from their lessons in life.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Treat others how you desire to be treated.
Do not let people mistake your kindness for weakness, and let no one use you.
Always have control over yourself, no matter the circumstances, CONTROL yourself.
Everything will be ok, even in dark clouds the sun always shines through.
Work smart, love all and be happy
