Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan James
Hi Nathan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“Circadia is an electronic rock band that started back in 2018 as a side project that dabbled in the world of electronica music while I was pursuing an alternative rock band full time.
After much hard work and dedication, I released our first full length, self produced album Seeking Completion on November 8th, 2019. I actually met my wife and synth / piano player (Alyssa) one week before our first album came out.
It wasn’t however, til January of 2021 that Alyssa joined the band. I had a hardship that I was going through at the time that almost had me quit pursuing music entirely in 2021. But then Alyssa reached out to one of my all time favorite musicians and idols in the industry (Seth Morrison of Skillet) who encouraged me to not give up my passion and fire for music. Shortly after receiving said video from Seth I re-listened to our first album for the first time in over a year and forgot how proud I was of the album. That moment led me to pursue Circadia full time and exclusively going forward bringing Alyssa on in the process.
Alyssa and I then continued to rehearse and work hard at our second full length album entitled Built From Heartache which released on July 21st, 2023.
We are now with a new studio and new producer / engineer working on some more new music which will come out in the next few years. “
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Our journey as a band and a couple has not been a smooth road.
I’d mentioned the struggle I went through in 2021 with almost giving up on music and my passion. There has been also the struggle of only being just the two of us, we’ve played only a few full band shows borrowing other musicians from other bands to fill in… The majority of our concerts have been acoustic which has been challenging expressing our sound and genre to others.
We are currently seeking a full time guitarist, drummer and bass player to complete the band and our sound when we perform. This has also been a challenge, but none of these challenges are a bad thing… We love the journey we’ve had so far, it’s made us who we are.”

“Circadia is an Electronic rock band from Ravenna Ohio.
We specialize in writing and performing positive and uplifting music for all ages to enjoy.
We are currently most proud of our second full length album Built From Heartache.
What sets us apart from many other bands out there is who we are and our mission as a band.
Our mission statement as a band is the acrostic B.U.I.L.T which stands for Be Kind, Use Your Gifts, Inspire Others, Love Unconditionally, and Try Your Best.
We strive to live by this mission statement both as a band and in our everyday lives, which is why people are starting to gravitate toward us as a band and as people. “
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
“The music industry is honestly going very down hill. Far too much negativity, hate, self doubt, encouragement of lust, adultery, weapons, money and so much more has poisoned the minds of so many people today.
This is why we would love to have the privilege of growing as a band and seeing and making a big impact for the better on this industry and the lives of others around the world.
We want to be the light that helps guide people out of their darkness.”
