Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexy Martin
Lexy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up I always watched YouTube videos and wanted so badly to also share my life but never felt like I had the confidence to put myself out there like that. I had a brief stint on YouTube in 8th grade before quickly deleting. Come college, I felt so secure in who I was, who I wanted to be and the message I could bring to my platforms. I started a YouTube channel my sophomore year and haven’t looked back! I have shared college life, wedding prep, home buying, and now my venture into motherhood! I still feel so much spark and drive to share my life and connect with others!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been more difficult than I expected, you think – hey I’m going to do this for a year and blow up, right? Wrong. Although I’m still growing, and will not stop sharing my life because I truly love it – it was and sometimes still is discouraging not seeing the growth you feel you deserve. I think the social media world has just evolved so much now, that it takes a lot for someone to follow versus just interacting with a video on their feed, and scrolling past. I even watch, on average, 8-10 of someone’s videos before I consider following them! But with the slow road comes some really incredible highs as well! I have gotten to partner with some incredible brands, had a few videos go viral, and have learned a lot along the way!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create motherhood and lifestyle content across multiple platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Lemon8. I am most proud of my highest watched video at 3.7M views! I’m also just proud of how far my skills and filming style has come from my college days in just my apartment with just my cell phone. I also LOVE the fact that I have this capsule of timestamps in my life that I can go back to watch whenever I want, that’s probably the coolest part.
How do you define success?
To me, success is considered continual growth, and loving what it is you’re doing! I’m of course proud of the money I have made along the way, but more than anything I’m proud of my personal growth. In a broader term, I think success is just looking at your life and being happy with where you are, and where you’d leave it if it were your last day on Earth, just genuinely enjoying your life.
