Check Out Latosha Jones’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latosha Jones.

Latosha Jones

Hi Latosha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Energy Powered Productions after really loving seeing people have a good time. Me being the oldest after losing my Mother when she was 38, I had to step up and find ways to keep me and my family together so I started hosting events and gatherings at my home. I loved it! Then I started getting my friends together at different venues and activities so I decided to take a chance on myself and start Energy Powered Productions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This independent business road has been very challenging especially as a single Mother of 2 children. I have so many ideas for amazing events but as we know, “It takes money to make money” so I rely on ticket sales. It gives me great satisfaction to see people enthused about having fun, meeting new people, and coming together for a safe and good time. As a full time worker, I often do most of my work in downtime as far as making flyers, promoting, and content creating.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would like to think that my work makes people feel like it’s not just another Sip&Paint, Social Gathering, Perfume Swap, or even another collaboration with another entrepreneur. Its an old school feel, mostly for people over the age of 30-40 that still love to have a good time. I’m known for my energetic energy, my positivity, and my ability to welcome anyone with open arms. I’m most proud of my outgoing personality and the ability to “read the room” but make most people feel like I’ve known them for years instead of hours. Music is one of my great loves so I love to incorporate great sounding music in my events.

For my personal picnics, I pride myself on making my own tables for customers. Gives it a homemade feel and very personable. What sets me apart is that I’m not just doing events for financial gain but to build the community.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking is always so much fun for me! Shaking hands, hearing stories, feeling the energy of other people is a love of mine. Bartending and serving for over 20 years was the ultimate experience for me and networking. Meeting all kinds of people from all walks of life teaches you so much. It’s refreshing.
